Rue de Verneuil is a Parisian brand and more than a decade old.
It was born from the simple, avant-garde idea of creating noble but understated, functional and robust bags which are still radiantly alluring to look at and be seen with... Because chic should be effortless elegance.
The first collection of tote-bags was imagined and designed as an ideal archetypical bag: beautiful and timeless, quietly elegant, bespoke quality... and quintessentially Parisian!
The 1st product was labelled in 2014 at a design studio on Rue de Verneuil, in the heart of the artistic and glamourous district of St-Germain-des-Près.
Since then, the story has flourished in our Parisian workshops as Rue de Verneuil pursues its quest for the ideal bag, with each new season and inspiration. Producing in its unique way with expertly crafted savoir-faire.
Vincent RIBAT
Vincent Ribat is the founder and designer of Rue de Verneuil. Endowed with a precise aesthetic and decorative spirit, he lives, travels, dresses and embodies a very singular sensitivity to beauty and the quintessence of all things.
After a long stint in interior design, he launched Rue de Verneuil ten years ago with the idea of realising his aesthetic aspirations, seeing bags as essential, loyal supports to our comings and goings, wanderings and voyages.
Vincent is deeply inspired by artifacts in diverse art forms such as architecture, luggage design, decoration and even cinema. This sensitivity to beautiful objects, masterpieces and emblematic places organically influences each of the collections.
Inspiration
Our bags are meant to be a personal and genuine interpretation of our culture and sensitivity to all that is graceful and meaningful, elegant and sustainable.
Rue de Verneuil is influenced by diverse references in architecture, fashion and design that instil simplicity, a sense of geometry and a certain pragmatic refinement in our products.
It is also our journeys to dear and unforgettable places that color the imagery and narrative of Rue de Verneuil. The spirit of these influences & memories infuses both our collections and our collaborations.
As an ode to this coexistence of styles, Rue de Verneuil could not have chosen a more remarquablement discrète place than the Jardin du Palais Royal to house our boutique. We invite you to discover our collections on a timeless walk, in the most beautiful garden of Paris.
The first bag of Rue de Verneuil
The first bag designed and manufactured under the Rue de Verneuil label was intended to be a form of timeless archetype.
Vincent Ribat – the brand’s founder - had the idea of ennobling the original blue-collar American tool-bag with all the characteristics of a modern, urban and elegant accessory.
Its large format, white canvas base, classic shape and straps, and Art Deco-inspired logo, all serve to fashion its elementary, geometric form. And the playful primary color-blocking concept results in a vibrant, totally singular but perfectly of its time bag.
As a noble precursor of the tote-bag, our 1st piece is a subtle, liberating, and unostentatious bag. Infused with the eclectic Parisian spirit, a perfect mixture of Rive gauche and Rive Droite.
Our first bag has become an icon of our idea of modern elegance: le remarquablement discret.
Our atelier
Our bags are first and foremost ideas that emerge and take shape as Vincent sketches in his notebooks. Words and impressions captured here and there, inspired by a color, a shape, a material... from a film, in the street, at an exhibition...
Then the jumbled notes come together and give shape to premises of bags, which will then be manufactured in our Parisian workshops. then made in our own Parisian workshops.
Our craftsmen are experts in high-end textile maroquinerie and bring our hand-made creations to life with agility and sensitivity.
The bags are all made of sober, noble materials such as canvas, tweed or wool flannel, depending on the season. We enhance all our products with carefully chosen hardware and finishing, so that they are as robust and durable as they are elegant and refined.
Each bag has been inspired by the spirit of the times and is scrupulously crafted to remain timeless, quietly luxurious, and entirely made in Paris.
